Understanding Different Bet Types
Single
The simplest bet type. You pick one selection and if it wins, you get paid out at the stated odds.
1 bet total
Double
Two selections that must both win. The odds are multiplied together for bigger potential returns.
1 bet total
Treble
Three selections that must all win. Higher risk but potentially much bigger returns than singles.
1 bet total
Accumulator
Four or more selections combined into one bet. All must win for a payout. Very popular for football.
1 bet total
Trixie
3 selections combined into 4 bets: 3 doubles and 1 treble. You need at least 2 winners to get a return.
4 bets total
Patent
3 selections in 7 bets: 3 singles, 3 doubles, and 1 treble. One winner guarantees a return.
7 bets total
Yankee
4 selections in 11 bets: 6 doubles, 4 trebles, and 1 four-fold. Need 2+ winners for a return.
11 bets total
Lucky 15
4 selections in 15 bets: 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 four-fold. One winner = guaranteed return.
15 bets total
Each Way
Two bets in one: a win bet and a place bet at reduced odds. Great for horse racing and golf outright markets.

How to Use This Calculator
Select Your Bet Type
Choose from singles, doubles, trebles, accumulators, or system bets like Trixie, Yankee, and Lucky 15. The calculator will automatically adjust the number of selections needed.
Choose Odds Format
Toggle between fractional odds (e.g., 5/1, 10/1) commonly used in the UK, or decimal odds (e.g., 6.00, 11.00) popular in Europe. Enter whichever format your bookmaker displays.
Enter Your Stake
Input how much you want to bet per unit. For system bets like a Yankee, this is your stake per bet line (e.g., 1 stake x 11 bets = 11 total stake).
Add Your Selections
Enter the odds for each selection. Use the "+ Add Selection" button for multiples. For each way bets, tick the box and select your place terms.
Calculate Returns
Hit the calculate button to see your total stake, potential return if all selections win, and your profit. Remember: actual returns depend on your selections winning!
Frequently Asked Questions
To convert fractional odds to decimal, divide the first number by the second and add 1. For example, 5/1 becomes (5 divided by 1) + 1 = 6.00 in decimal. For 7/4 odds: (7 divided by 4) + 1 = 2.75 decimal. Our calculator handles this automatically when you toggle between formats.
An each way bet is essentially two bets in one: a bet on your selection to win, and a separate bet on it to place (finish in the top positions). The place part pays out at a fraction of the win odds, typically 1/4 or 1/5. If your selection wins, both parts pay out. If it places but doesn't win, only the place part pays. Each way bets are particularly popular in horse racing and golf.
System bets like Trixie, Yankee, or Lucky 15 provide insurance that accumulators don't. With an accumulator, if one selection loses, your entire bet loses. With system bets, you can still get a return even if not all selections win. For example, a Lucky 15 pays out if just one of your four selections wins. The trade-off is that system bets cost more (more bet lines) but offer better coverage for near-misses.
This calculator shows base returns without bonuses. Many bookmakers offer enhanced returns on system bets - for instance, 10% bonus on Lucky 15 bets if all selections win, or double odds if only one selection wins. Some also offer acca insurance or acca boosts on accumulators. Check your bookmaker's specific promotions as these can significantly increase your returns.
